Andrew Sharpe

Research Interests

Dr. Andrew Sharpe (PhD Plant Genetics, U. of East Anglia, 1997) has managed large multi-disciplinary teams in plant genetics and genomics at NRC (since 2008) and previously at AAFC in Saskatoon. Since 2015 Dr. Sharpe has worked for Global Institute for Food Security (GIFS) at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) to establish a collaborative ‘omics platform that will service genomics, phenomics and informatics needs of researchers. Dr. Sharpe has been involved in several international crop genome sequencing projects (Brassica and wheat) resulting in multiple high impact publications in Science and Nature journals. Dr. Sharpe is now also leading the Plant Phenotyping and Imaging Research Centre (P2IRC) to establish integrative phenomics capacity at USask.
