Roberto Tuberosa, is a Professor at the University of Bologna (Italy) where he teaches Plant Breeding and Plant Biotechnology Applied to Plant Breeding. His research program focuses on genomics (QTL mapping and cloning) of tolerance to drought of maize and durum wheat and fungal diseases of durum wheat. He collaborates with seed companies to improve durum wheat and maize yield via marker-assisted selection. He has published over 110 peer-reviewed manuscripts, has co-edited 6 books and has organized 8 international Congresses. He organized and managed for ten years the Italian technological platform “Plants for the Future”. He also organized and co-chairs the Expert Working Group in Durum Wheat Genomics and Breeding. He is a member of the editorial board of several journals. He received his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding from the University of Minnesota and is a Fellow of the Crop Science Society of America.
