Prof. Ariel Ortiz-Bobea is an applied economist focused on evaluating the effect of extreme weather and climate change on various sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture. His work often involves cross-disciplinary collaborations with engineers, climate and crop scientists. Prior to Cornell he worked as a research fellow at Resource for the Future in Washington, DC and as special assistant to the Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources in the Dominican Republic.
